Community Thoughts
At the Police 'Liberation Day', held in the Grantham Market on Sat 27th March, I obtained information which I think may be of  interest to many of our older folk in the community. The scheme is called First Contact and is a partnership run within Lincolnshire to aid folk getting advice.

First Contact - Advice and Information about essential services

People aged 60 and over can now get in touch with a range of essential services through one point of contact to help them stay safe and well in their own homes.

The First Contact service, which is run in partnership by a range of organisations across Lincolnshire, works by encouraging people to complete a checklist in a First Contact leaflet.

The checklist addresses issues such as fire and community safety, personal care, housing, heating, falls prevention, money and benefit entitlements, transport, social isolation, home care and caring for others.

Organisations that provide help through First Contact include:

Adult Social Care
Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue
District Councils'
Age Concerns'
Lincolnshire Police
The Pension Service
Voluntary Centre Services
